While deeply transformative, Kambo is not safe for everyone. There are specific conditions and circumstances where Kambo should not be taken, as well as situations where extra caution is required.
Serious heart conditions (enlarged heart, congestive heart disease, implanted pacemaker or defibrillator, history of heart bypass or valve surgery, very high or very low blood pressure that requires medication).
History of stroke, brain hemorrhage, aneurysms, or blood clots.
Addison’s disease.
Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.
Epilepsy (current and severe).
Esophageal varices or other conditions that weaken the esophagus.
Pancreatitis.
Children under 18 years old.
Women who are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding (especially within 9 months postpartum).
Anyone currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy, or within 4–6 weeks of treatment.
Organ transplant patients taking immunosuppressants.
People recovering from major surgery.
Anyone who has taken Bufo Alvarius (5-MeO-DMT) or Iboga within the past 28 days.
Recent recreational or medical drug use within the past 7 days.
Serious psychiatric conditions (schizophrenia, psychosis, bipolar mania, or other severe disorders that affect mental capacity). EXCLUDING: depression PTSD and anxiety
Taking immune-suppressant drugs for autoimmune conditions.
Currently struggling with active alcohol or drug addiction.
Doing long-term fasting, water fasting, or deep detoxes (colonics, enemas, liver flushes) within 3 days before or after Kambo.
If you have any of the conditions listed above, Kambo is not recommended. If you fall under the “caution” category, always disclose your health history to your practitioner before sitting with the medicine.
